Work
Engineering Manager at Cashia, leading the Consumer Experience Squad — 5 engineers across Android, iOS (KMM), and Web. We own every digital touchpoint a Cashia customer sees, from onboarding to day-to-day payments.
First EM role. I’m learning as fast as I can.
Current focus: establishing sprint rituals and release predictability, driving a feature-module architecture migration in KMM, and running 1:1s that actually move the needle for each engineer.
Learning
What good engineering management looks like in practice. Reading everything I can find from people who’ve done it well. Writing about what I observe in the IC to EM transition.
Still following AI/ML developments — curious about where AI-assisted development goes in the next 12 months.
Building
dawatnama.app — digital wedding and event invitations. Started as a way to learn modern web development (Next.js, Tailwind). Turns out people actually want to use it.
Sketching ideas for an Islamic finance app that handles Zakat calculation properly. Too many apps get the Hijri calendar wrong.
Family
Living in Dubai with my wife and kids. Continuing to explore homeschooling. The traditional system feels broken in too many ways. We want them to learn at their own pace, stay curious, and keep their fitrah intact.
